Welcome to CFI

Carbon Farms International targets degraded pasturelands in the tropics for conversion into land-use efficient carbon farms that drawdown atmospheric CO2 while producing more food than it did previously. We help impact investors achieve their climate change goals and smallholder farmers lift themselves out of poverty.

Managed Carbon Farms

CFI helps clients launch carbon farms starting from 100 hectares in size. CFI finds the land, develops a farm plan and guides the client through the process.

Our Mission

CFI’s mission is to accelerate the drawdown of atmospheric greenhouse gases.

Fast-growing hardwoods

CFI focuses on fast growing, valuable tropical hardwoods like Teak, Pochote and Mahogany.

Increased Food Production

To avoid putting pressure on the world's food supply, CFI includes perennial fruit trees like mango and coconut when designing a carbon farm.

Smart Farming Practices

CFI design and operate carbon farms using strategies that minimizes greenhouse gas emissions so that net CO2 sequestration is maximized.

Nothing is Wasted

Waste biomass from CFI designed carbon farms are either recycled into soil/compost or used as feedstock for biomass power plants.

Native forest is protected

Trees are planted on degraded pasturelands and any existing forest stands on farms are protected and in some cases expanded with native plants.
